"Game On" catapaults The Guild to #1 again!

"Keyboard chemistry - my arse!" says Codex*

EXCITING UPDATE: Game On is now #1 music video in UK, US and Canada! Read more on Tubefilter.

Buy Game On - NOW!
As I blogged yesterday, after the online, FREE release of "Game On" on MSN/Zune network last week, today saw the official release of "Game On"via iTunes, Amazon and other outlets via Tunecore.com. It wasn't long before it was rising in the charts. Since iTunes is regional, I could only check on how it fared in Canada, but @TheGuild, @FeliciaDay and a cadre of Guildies was monitoring it around the world.

The UK was the first to take it to #1, and @GrrArgh broke the joyful news:

Game On had knocked off Shakira and Lady Gaga in the UK:

Back in Canada...
...I was watching as Game On hit number 4, then number 3 and finally rested at number 2:

The Guild had beaten Shakira, Eminem and Master Bieber - only Katy Perry withstood the assault. It was the same in the US.

What an amazing result!
Going head to head with massive, established stars and winning is a huge triumph for an independent webseries. Think about it for a moment. All the advertising and constant rotation these songs and stars get were no match for the power of The Guild. Awesome! To make things easy to find in your country,  Dani has put a list of International links on  on watchtheguild forums.

Behind the Scenes
If you want to know more about the shooting of Game On, I reviewed it on PinkRaygun last week - and here's a video from our good friend Greg Benson from the set!

MORE Guild Goodness!
Something else happened today, too - Season 4, Episode 3 was released! My review on PinkRaygun will be up tomorrow, and you can see the epsiode here:

The Guild Comic #2 and On Garner Road: The Higlet Files

The Matthew Stawiki cover of The Guild comic #2 from watchtheguild.com (other cover is by Kristin Donaldson)

Hold on to your Dark Horses...
...because Issue #2 of The Guild comic is now out! It's been a Guild Comic week with the release of #2 in comic book stores (and online) and Issue #1 is now also available on iTunes! I received my copy of #1 last week in the mail and - wow! Felicia Day has really delivered a great story. Anyone who has seen The Guild webseries is familiar with Codex/Cyd and her...issues. The Guild comics go back to Cyd-the-waif and is painting a funny-yet-painful geek coming-of-age story (that's-enough-dashes). I have never seen gaming as empowerment portrayed with such a deft touch.

I'll have to wait to get my hands on #2 because the it seems to take forever to have them delivered and according to @DarkHorseComics some comic book stores in the US and Canada might be experiencing delays. But that's ok - I can wait.

More Guildie news
Season 4 is in pre-production! There was a flurry on twitter earlier this week when Felicia tweeted about casting. As Kim Evey confirmed, though, The Guild can only accept actor submissions from agents. However there will likely be a general call for extras at some point, so make sure you are following The Guild on Twitter.

Everything you ever wanted to know about me, and more besides...
A couple of weeks ago I spoke to Glen Campbell for his podcast "On Garner Road". Glen is fellow Friendfeeder and a natural interviewer. We had a good old chinwag and it was lots of fun - thanks, Glen! We talked about books, writing, geekery, Buffy, The Guild and a host of other topics. The interview is out today if you want to get the lowdown on where I got my name from, amongst other things... I even did a new graphic for it:

Oh sorry - I should have put a warning on this! :) The three faces of Higlet.

The Guild Season on DVD, iTunes news and Photo Shoot

Thought The Guild was lounging around doing nothing...

...while we suffered in silence with our Guild Deficiency Syndrome? Think again, bucko! As from today, The Guild goes iTunes-tastic with all three Seasons available! It works here in Canada, so hopefully it will work where you are, too. The Season 3 DVD release date has been announced and you can order that from Amazon.com right now. For full details and links to the releases, plus all the latest news from The Guild, check out WatchTheGuild.com.

Ever wondered what a professional photo shoot is like?

The Bui Brothers have again taken some magnificent pictures for The Guild Season 3 DVD (remember the awesome pictures of Felicia Day they did last year, too?). And, because they are cool dudes, they took some video of the shoot day. Enjoy this and then go and order Season 3!

Breaking News: Do You Want To Date My Avatar? - Now on iTunes!

Sweet!

I've just downloaded the "Do You Want To Date My Avatar" video on iTunes and I'm listening it while I'm writing this! AND I LOVE IT! I blogged about how great the video is before, and very soon everyone will have the chance to find out for themselves. Felicia Day has confirmed via Twitter that we will be hearing all about when/why/how you buy it:

- but for now you can try this link to iTunes.

A word of caution

Since I've been writing this it appears that it might not be available in all iTunes, so we'll have to see what the news is about this tomorrow. Also - check what else is ticked on your playlist otherwise you might end up listening to "The Final Countdown', too.....:(

EDIT: More Breaking News!

Since I first published this (oh - 5 mins ago!) Felicia has confirmed what the availability will be for everyone:

Dr Horrible Soundtrack on iTunes

Hurray!

Yes, you can now purchase the whole Dr Horrible soundtrack from iTunes! The link is on the Dr Horrible website and you can also get the lyrics and liner notes there, too. If you've not visited the Dr Horrible site in a little while you will see some extra buttons:

You Tube shenanigans...

Well Act IV is now up. In Widescreen. That's all I have to say about that. Except - lots of new viewers in the last few days and great feedback, so thank you everyone. And I have a cunning plan for a 'Special' that will take a bit of work but should be very good. But no more about that for now, there's still the others to record. Repeat after me: The Evil League of Beagles, The Eagle Leaves of Smeagol, The Weevil Sleeves of Fleagle.....
