Competition Winner! Plus - stats!

Without further ado, I'm pleased to announce...
That there is a winner to the Evil WorldofHiglet competition to identify the DVDs and book on Evil WorldofHiglet's printer. These are the items in order (left to right):

In the end there were several entries that were correct so I had to number them all and apply the 'random number generator' to them.

What's that - you want a name?
Ok, well the lucky winner is Lisa T! I've already sent the Application Form to Lisa and once I get that back I'll be working on a special episode - I've already got some ideas :) Lisa T is also the voice of Cordelia in Buffy: Between the Lines Season 2 and has a podcast/blog. SoCongratulations to Lisa T and a huge THANK YOU to everyone who took part in the Competition.

Some quick stats - and more thanks
Between the 8 videos in the Evil WorldofHiglet Application Processing there has been over 12,500 views, so thank you everyone who has watched, commented and favourited them. There have even been some video responses which are well worth having a look at. We are working on a musical episode or two, too, which should be fun. I've not heard from Felicia yet, but she only got back from Blizzcon today. I mean, what's the worst that can happen?

The Guild, BBtL, Whedonage and more....

Running to keep up!
Well I don't know about you, but it's been a busy week over here. After waving goodbye to our visiting family at the weekend the house was feeling pretty empty (well, apart from my brood, of course) but luckily I've had plenty to keep me out of mischief. Isn't that good?

The Guild DVDs are on their way
Felicia and helpers (who included Sandeep 'Zaboo' Parikh) worked their way through boxloads of orders for The Guild, Season 1 and they are now all posted out. Have I mentioned my admiration for Ms Day and The Guild here before? Ok, then! So it's no surprise to know that I am ridiculously excited about getting this DVD. You can keep up with all thing Guild by going to WatchTheGuild.com or even using The Guild FriendFeed room.

Buffy Between the Lines - Season 2!
It's hard to believe the time has passed so quickly but Season 2 starts on Saturday 16th August. With lots of excitement to come this season make sure you check out the BBtL website for the full story - and don't forget that Lisa T debuts as Cordelia, which is certainly something to look forward to. And there is more news from the BBtL team, too, concerning Dr Horrible. Now, what could that be about? Check out this DragonCon post and then tell me if it doesn't make you go "Wow! I wish I was going to be there"!

More Whedonage posts to follow
I've also been hard at work on a followup to my Whedonage post about Comic Con. Yes, it's been a labour of love all right, but it's nearly ready to go up. It's going to be in 2 parts, though, because I just couldn't condense it down anymore. So many great people, so many great things to write about! And speaking of Whedonage, my exclusive interview with P J Haarsma (award-winning author of 'The Softwire' books and co-founder of 'Kids Need To Read' literacy foundation) has gone down very well. P J was kind enough to say he would do a follow-up interview so if you have any questions please put them in the comments and I can include them.

Reading for pleasure - and friends?
I've had the job of reading a draft of 'Save My Soul', a novel by Zoe Winters. Well, I say 'job', but there was a lot more pleasure than work involved! Writing is a strange beast and it's very hard to judge your own work. When Zoe asked for readers for her novel on her excellent blog recently I signed up straight away. After having to put it to one side while others things took precedence, I made the time this week to finish it and send some feedback to Zoe. Now, I'm not going to give any spoilers away but this is a very good read indeed. The story is well-paced and plotted, I really like Zoe's style and voice, and the ending really surprised me! The good news for all of us is that 'Save My Soul' is going to be Podcast, so as soon as a date is set for that I'll be blogging about it again. Thanks, Zoe - reading 'Save My Soul' was a pleasure!

Podcasts and MyBlogLog

Hypersensitive - hypergood!
I started listening to Lisa T's Hypersensitive podcast last week before going to Vancouver, and I really enjoyed it. I couldn't finish before I left so I caught up with it yesterday. That's one of the great things about Podcasts - you can listen anytime and if you don't finish, you can go back again. The podcast covers a wide range of topics from TV, movies to other podcasts and what Lisa has been up to. And congratulations are in order because she is going to be the voice of Cordelia in Buffy: Between the Lines for Season 2! This is a great, chatty podcast and if you love TV, movies, music the Internet and Podcasts then give it a go. Lisa also has a website and something that caught my eye from it this week was A Geek's Guide to Summer Movies. If you weren't sure what to watch this season, you now have a handy list to refer to - invaluable!

MyBlogLog
Some of you might have noticed the MyBlogLog thingy (widget) at the side of my blog. It shows the last few readers of my 'MyBlogLog' community home page. What's that, then? Well MyBlogLog is another example of Social Software that I've been experimenting with. At first it was a bit 'well, what does it do?' but now I've added some settings and I can see how it might be very useful. It's free to join and if you have a blog or website you can add links to it and invite people to join your community. You can also join other communities that share interests with you. On my home page you can see what I've been doing - updates to my blog, pages I've Dugg with Digg, Twitter Updates, Stumble Upon...it puts all these together in one place.

Join in!
Why not join MyBlogLog and see for yourself! Add your blog or website (if you have one), add all your other social software IDs and then join in. It's easy to do and a good way to extend your online presence. Stop by my community page and join. If you do I'll be sure to pop over and say hello - it would be great to meet some more readers. If you want any help with it send me an email or contact me via MyBlogLog.
