Streamy Awards: Vote in the Audience Choice Award!

Sean Becker, Sandeep Parikh and Felicia Day from The Guild accepting an award at the 2009 Streamys

Daily Voting - Make It Count!
The ten finalists for the Audience Choice in the 2010 Streamy Awards have been announced by Nick Thune (from "Nick's Big Show"):

"Check out the video above to see Nick’s lighthearted riff on the 10 web TV shows with some of the largest fan bases. And here’s a list of the finalists:

Congratulations to the Streamys Audience Choice Award Nominees and many thanks to Nick Thune. Now it’s time to get voting!"
The above links to the webseries were broken on the streamys site this morning and there were a couple of other glitches, too (including a big audio delay on The Guild video). I commented on the website and I got a response from Josh Cohen within 5 minutes thanking me for letting them know and assuring me he was working on them all now. That's what I call good customer service - well done, Streamys!

Make sure you vote every day for the webseries you want to see get the Award! Yesterday there was a competition on The Streamys Facebook page where people could list who they thought would be nominated. The prize was tickets to the Streamys. The only ones I guessed were The Guild and Legend of Neil....

Red Carpet Hosts
There is also a competition to be a Red Carpet host for The Streamys. I didn't bother to do a video because the rules said you had to be a US resident. There is some confusion about that. @streamysaward  posted this last night after some discussion on twitter about it:

http://twitter.com/streamyawards/status/10838099528
But the official rules on the gotcast.com website say otherwise:

http://twitter.com/worldofhiglet/status/10881910494
I'll let you know if we see any further clarification. And also if Higlet is going to do a video....

The Guild S3 Ep2 on YouTube and Friendbuddies: Comments and votes needed!

Remember how cute The Guild looked at the end of S2?
Friday is Guild day!
Season 3, Episode 2 is now up on YouTube:

Season 3 puts The Guild through the wringer with ups, downs, thrills, spills and even some kilt-based action (go @wilw!). In fact, I was watching the S3 DVD bonus features today and I had never noticed the bit where Wil Wheaton is gesturing wildly in the background in the 'Axis of Anarchy' feature. Talk about swinging sporrans....

Anyhoo! Make sure to watch, rate and comment on YouTube. Even if you did that on MSN and watchtheguild.com because every time you do, it helps to show that The Guild has lots of fans that really love the show *cough* Season 4 deal *cough*. My reviews of all of Season 3 are up on PinkRaygun.com so check them out, too (full list with links under 'Shameless Plug', here).

Seasons 1 and 2 are also available on Netflix so if you have Netflix check them out (and rate, comment, etc).

Friendbuddies: vote now, vote often!
Friendbuddies: Who wouldn't want to see Sean and Payman on TV?
I'm not sure how many times you can vote or when the contest finishes but I do know that Sean Becker and Payman Benz, the brains (!) behind Awkward Pictures (and Friendbuddies) deserve a chance to be on TV. And you can make that happen. Simply go to the atom.com showdown page, click on Friendbuddies to watch the video and then vote. No registration or anything else to do - easy! They have picked up some % points this week but are still not winning, so please remember to vote. A lot.

Friendbuddies: Sean and Payman need you!

The fake Sean Becker. He needs help (obviously. I mean - look at him!).
Webvideo - I LOVE it!
I spend far too long watching videos on the Intertubes. Far. Too. Long. A while ago I was stalking researching a certain Mr Sean Becker for a series of articles. He had become the first person I had seen being fired live on twitter and I wanted to find out what made him tick. One of the videos I found was Friendbuddies - and I loved. Not only does it have Payman Benz (all hail Unicow) in it looking gorgeous as ever, Greg Benson (from Mediocre Films) also makes a completely non-douchey appearance, too!

Competition time
FriendBuddies is now competing against some other video for a chance to appear on TV in the atom.com showdown. Imagine! Payman on your TV! On Comedy Central! This has to happen. Watch FriendBuddies then vote every day so they win. It's been literally months since we had to vote for something (Oh wait - except for the Streamys). This video is awesome and deserves to win.

FriendBuddies

Don't let Sean down!
Sean has had his share of knocks over the last year. Being sacked (in the 'losing you job' sense - I have no idea whether he has been sacked in football), his crippling drinking problem, and being held captive by Felicia Day have all taken their toll. Help a guy out. Vote for FriendBuddies on the Atom site now - no registration and it's a quicker than tweeting. No one wants Sean to turn feral again.

The Guild S3 Hits YouTube and Felicia Day hits....Sean Becker?

Episode One of Season 3 posted on YouTube today
Every Friday we will be getting the next episode in all it's uncensored (and sweary) glory! Season 3 is also available on iTunes and from Amazon.com (see here for all the details) so if you can't wait to hear Wil Wheaton curse as roundly as Felicia then make sure you order soon.

As always, The Guild team love to hear comments about the show so if you didn't comment when S3 was released on MSN now's the time to let them know how much you enjoy this season. Commenting on YouTube is a doddle so no excuses for not doing it!

Shameless plug
And don't forget I reviewed the whole of Season 3 on PinkRaygun.com as it was released on MSN. To make it easy I've listed the links for you here:

Episode 5: Application'd
Epsiode 12: Hero

Felicia lies down on the set of RED!
The first pictures of Felicia Day in her new role in Red, the new SYFY production, have been released via Karen O'Hara on the @SyfyMovies twitter account:

First pic from the RED shoot! Felicia knows how to wield a w... on Twitpic

However, news soon came in from @alalcoolj that the picture had actually been altered from the original. He had obtained a copy from some fellow Canadians showing that Sean Becker has been FIRED - FOR REAL THIS TIME?!?:

Then came the shocking news that Felicia, possibly in revenge for his recent misuse of her iPhone, had her sights set on another of the Guildie faithful, Edgar, as @alalacoolj posted this:

Felicia, as usual,  showed no remorse and simply posted a picture of her new hood accessory via twitter:

I hope Syfy know what they are dealing with....!

Felicia Day: Vampire Slayer turns Werewolf Hunter in 'RED'

Official at last - Felicia Day to star in Syfy movie, Red

(Felicia will be swapping Guild Gold for Silver Bullets in 2011)

After a few days of speculation we have confirmation that Felicia Day's newest venture is as a (presumably) kick-ass werewolf hunter in Syfy's upcoming movie, Red.

From the Syfy Press Release:

"Felicia Day, star of web videos The Guild and Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog, who also played “Vi” in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, will portray a werewolf-hunting descendant of Little Red Riding Hood in the new Syfy Saturday Original Movie, Red.

Scheduled to premiere in 2011, Red is Syfy’s latest re-imagining of classic fairy tales, legends and pop culture characters. The new line of films launched with Beauty and the Beasts: A Dark Tale, which starred Estella Warren, on February 27."

On the Scent
News that Felicia had landed a lead role in a movie came when she had to cancel her scheduled appearance at Emerald City Comic Con. Speculation abounded amongst Felicia's many fans about what she might be appearing in like @alalcoolj's Sexy Secretary guess:

while other commentators like @DeliciaFay took the higher moral ground and refused to join in:

(I'm sure Delicia was trying to put us off the scent by getting the reveal date wrong). Where Felicia was and what she was doing did surface last week after a post by the casting company (thank you to @beckotronic for the tip), but since people knew it was supposed to be under wraps it was kept quiet until the official announcement.

Hungry like the Wolf
Felicia had recently said at Farpoint that she had wanted to star as a villain with her dream job being a Sith Lord with KITT from Knightrider as her car (see this video for her full answer). This might not be exactly what she had in mind but it should let her flaunt her non-secretary acting skills. And maybe she gets to kill and maim at last. Can't wait to see Ms Day in action!

The Guild: News Round-up!

The Guild Season 3 DVD available on Amazon.com

It's the 3rd of March already!
It was hubby's birthday yesterday (Yay! Cake and cookies!) so HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUBBY (for yesterday). Anyway, it always amazes me how quickly we get to March and so much has happened over the last few weeks with regards to The Guild that I thought some clip notes might be helpful. You know, in case Felicia rings up one day and asks you if you've seen her  latest BrownCoatsMovie interview and you didn't know anything about it - imagine how embarrassing that would be!

Streamy Nominations....all SEVEN of them
After the live online announcement of the Streamy Awards nominations I posted a list of all The Guild's nommies. Congratulations to the whole team for a fantastic effort.

Comics, Covers and is it March 24th yet?

The Guild comic #1 is out on 24th March and Scott Allie is looking for feedback letters to feature in #2, so check out the 6-page preview and send your email to scotta at darkhorse dot com.

Interviews with Felicia

Browncoats movie

@osiramon has posted a multitude of excellent vids on his corpus D YouTube channel, like this one:

Knights of The Guild - powered by Unicorns
Kenny and Jenni continue to provide us with amazing podcasts - and videos! - choc-full of Guildie goodness with their podcasts and website. It was recently their one year anniversary and as a treat they threw a huge party and invited all the Guildies - fans, cast and crew - to attend. Those of us who couldn't attend in person (and some fans did make the trip) could watch online on Ustream. It was a great party! The full video is online, too (password is available from the Knights of The Guild website).

The best thing is to subscribe to the podcast so you don't miss an episode. With podcasts, microcasts and videos being released there is never long to wait for a new installment.

Codex's Staff Auction
Have you been following Greg Aronowitz as he tests Felicia's handiness as they make a Codex staff together? Greg has been posting amazing details about how he constructed the staff along with some brilliant videos of him and Felicia in perfect harmony. Part 3 is now up along with some exciting news. The staff they expertly made is up for auction! This is a one-of-a-kind piece made by Felicia (with some small help from Greg) and is sure to raise a lot of funds for The Red Cross.

Sean Becker and Jeff Lewis: a new collaboration
With a World Premiere tonight at the 'Shorts 'n' Spirits Showcase', the brand new series from Becker (Director of The Guild) and Lewis (Vork from The Guild) is set to hit an unsuspecting audience in Glendale. Titled 'The Jeff Lewis 5-Minute Comedy Hour' this series promises to show a whole new side of our beloved Guild Leader. When I interviewed Sean last year he said that people were going to be blown away by this series and that Jeff's writing was more than adequate. In an interview for Tubefilter as part of their article about the 'Shorts 'n' Spirits' night, Jeff Lewis was similarly enthusiastic, saying
"I had done sketch comedy in theater for many years and always wanted to widen my audience to the entire world. Sean was the fourth person I thought of.”

Emerald City Comic Con
Some of the cast and crew of The Guild will be headed over to Seattle for ECCC and will be there on March 13th and 14th. Check the website for full details about when they will be appearing. Felicia Day will not now be appearing due to something or other, what was is now...erm....OH YES! She's landed a starring role in a movie!!! Gratz to Felicia and hope we find out more soon!

Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em Improv
Felicia Day flaunts her moustache while Jeff Lewis checks the loot

If you want to see some free-forming Improv that features some of your favourite webseries stars then you should make you way over to the Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em Improve Ustream site. They stream live thanks to the miracle of the intertubes and are frantically funny. Past shows are there to view on Ustream.

That's my little round-up - what did I miss? Please let me know what I've left out and I'll add it. Bye for now, Guildies!
