It's always hard to find new ways to stop the GDS from kicking in hard. Luckily there are now The Guild comics, too, but nothing beats sitting down to watch a whole season in the company of like-minded people. Once more La Fontana Caffe is the venue for what promises to be an afternoon of Guildie-related fun. Great food, company and entertainment - guaranteed.

Want to see BC Browncoats in Action?
For the last 5 years the BC Browncoats have been celebrating Can't Stop The Serenity day in Vancouver, raising lots of cashy money for charities such as Equality Now and BC Women's Hospital Foundation. I've been to the last 3 events and they were amazing - a wonderful day out topped off by seeing Serenity on the big screen.

There was massive excitement (and massive numbers!) in Guild Chat last night as the anticipation for Season 4 flowed over into a flurry of frenetic finger-tapping. Ning held up, though, and even 70+ ppl online didn't crash it. Among the luminaries that joined in were Felicia Day, Kim Evey and Sandeep Parikh.

Waiting is hard to do
As 10:00, 10:30, 11:00 rolled on, Guildies in different time zones were bemoaning the sleep they weren't havin, but no one wanted to rest before seeing the episode. Guildie Tim was on the ball, though, and at about 11:20 he posted in chat that it was live! OMGWTFBBQ so AWESOME! And here it is:

I'm not saying anything about the epsiode here (except to say -watch it!!!) but I'm writing my review of PinkRaygun.com which will be out tomorrow. And also out tomorrow is the Knights Of The Guild CompanionCast which will give all the Behind The Scenes juice for Epsiode 1 - I can't wait!

The Guild Comic #2 and On Garner Road: The Higlet Files

Hold on to your Dark Horses...
...because Issue #2 of The Guild comic is now out! It's been a Guild Comic week with the release of #2 in comic book stores (and online) and Issue #1 is now also available on iTunes! I received my copy of #1 last week in the mail and - wow! Felicia Day has really delivered a great story. Anyone who has seen The Guild webseries is familiar with Codex/Cyd and her...issues. The Guild comics go back to Cyd-the-waif and is painting a funny-yet-painful geek coming-of-age story (that's-enough-dashes). I have never seen gaming as empowerment portrayed with such a deft touch.

I'll have to wait to get my hands on #2 because the it seems to take forever to have them delivered and according to @DarkHorseComics some comic book stores in the US and Canada might be experiencing delays. But that's ok - I can wait.

More Guildie news
Season 4 is in pre-production! There was a flurry on twitter earlier this week when Felicia tweeted about casting. As Kim Evey confirmed, though, The Guild can only accept actor submissions from agents. However there will likely be a general call for extras at some point, so make sure you are following The Guild on Twitter.
